1how have u got chlorine there in the second one...........are the question interlinked ,,,not clear yaar?how chlorine?
39SNi reaction in second one causes ring formation...but it should be a base reacting with the compound instead of an acid. A base would remove a proton from -OH, and O- would attack the position where chlorine is present in an intramolecular nucleophilic substitution reaction.
It is favoured because three membered ring formation is favoured by kinetics(formed very fast), but it is not by thermodynamics(very unstable once formed) and will break in presence of acidic medium.
39Three products are possible....A simple SN2 product, or a double bond addition product. How did you form a diene? And your product has an extra carbon atom...

39Cyclic compound yahan possible nahi hai, sorry. Made a mistake earlier. SN2 product will be major.
