kumar has given the two isomers
but there are others also like
prop-2-en-1-ol
cyclopropanol
I think kumar and akshat have given the right answer.
So 4 isomeric alcohols are possible for C3H5OH
prop-1-en-1-ol
prop-1-en-2-ol
prop-2-en-1-ol
cyclopropanol
What about the geometrical isomer of the compound?
I think there exist 1
there are 2 isomers possible.
prop-2-en-1-ol
and cyclopropanol
think and assure yourself . Else I'll give the answer on the day after.
I had already given these two isomers.
I want to know if more exist
I'm sorry . I should've said there are ONLY TWO ISOMERS (STABLE) POSSIBLE .Others are hypothetical and don't exist. the ones gien byme exist . Try to find out why the others don't exist , It's part of basic Organic chem . I'll give the answer later.
Hey lord, although prop-1-en-1-ol
prop-1-en-2-ol exist mainly in in keto form, U can't call them non existant. In isomers of alcohols u have 2 name them..
yup.. in exams it will be a big mistake in such problems not to name all isomers... regardless of whether they may or may not exist!
HEYYYYYYYYYYY
U MISED1
PROP 1 EN 3 OL
ALON
prop-1-en-1-ol
prop-1-en-2-ol
prop-2-en-1-ol
cyclopropanol
SO NOW 5 ISOMERZZZZZZ

Ajinkya you have made a mistake
there is no compound as such PROP-1-EN-3-OL
it is named as PROP-2-EN-1-OL (as alcohol should be low numbered)
yeah
take care of these small things otherwise you will lose marks on the easiest problem
