the first one is more reactive.........this is bcoz its in a protic solvent........and in protic solvent chloride ion acts as a betr leavin grp dan iodide ion..

arey this is an elemination reaction not substitution in 1 after removal of electron
the carbanion formed is more stable due to gud -I effect of Cl

guys mughe thoda doubt aaraha hai . whether more reactive means which has more rate of reaction ?

If yes then second one is more reactive no ? as rate of formation of two is more no ?
leaving group thing .

how can u say that rate of reaction of 2 is more sri

u r talking about leaving group but in elimination we hav to first take out H+

then see which intermediate is more stable obviously 1st one

the beauty of this Q makes it a bit confusing [1][1]
