CH₃CH₂CH₃ reacts with CH₂(carbene). What various alkanes will be obtained due to insertion???

well in previous one we replaced the double bond by the two bonds from carbene...

in this are we supposed to replace the H from two separate C atoms.
so resulting is only one alkane methyl cyclopropane??

its definitely not ur answer. i think, u take a hydrogen out, from any carbon, and put in a CH3 instead.

Mehylene can insert itself into every carbon hydrogen bond of most kind of molecules.

Yeah tapas and madhu are right...for all C-H bonds, you can insert the carbene in.
