The number of waves made by an electron moving in an orbit having maximum quantum number(m)+3 is

The logic provided above by you all is correct.
As m has a max value of +3, therefore l = 3 & therefore, n can have value 4.

Also we know that nλ = 2πr (Using mvr = (nh/2π) & λ = (h/mv)

Therefore, the number of waves made by the electron would be 4.

The no. of waves made by an electron = Principal Quantum number of the electron.

This can be showed.

i think that...since here magnetic quantum no.is given ....which is +3...azimuthal quantum number should be at least equal to 3...which is only possible when n=4..thus,cant the answer be 4????
