The first ionization energy of H is 21.79x10-19J.Calculate the second ionization energy of He atom.
(According to me,
2nd I.E of He=E2-E∞
=(21.79x10-19)x2222-0 (E=21.79x10-19xz2n2)
=21.79x10-19J given correct answer is 87.16x10-19J...!!!! )

ya...i think i should have found out the energy required to remove the 2nd electron in He+ in the first shell itself....isn't it?
