@eureka.. yes
@abhirup.. we cant even multiply them... so this question woudl be vague then..
i think what it means is simple value wise multiplication..

consider PV =nrT
here T P intensive
so PT intense
P/T intense
P + T not defined
VdP/dT + PdV/dt = nr
dP/dT= (nr - PdV/dt) /V = T/P - P/V dV/dt
here the second term is extensive so dP/dT extensive i guess
ne way i ve not solved any problem based on these in iit syllabus

@abhirup.. we cant even multiply them
why can't we multiply them [7]
we can multiply mass and acceleration...na...

xy will be intensive
x/y will be intensive
x+y will be intensive
dx/dy will also be intensive....
I think this should be the answer...
why? becasue x is not a function of V
y is not a function of V
and so one..

vishal lets see this way
x is iindependent of volume..
y is independent of volume
how can x+y depend on volume!! :O
I dont understand the logic!
which book is it from?

example for c.......
If we add 2 colors ,we get another color which is an intesive property[1]
Same for velocity too..........we have been doing this for 1 year in mechanics[1]
