ln ( P2 /P1 ) = ΔHv(T2 - T1)/T2*T1*R

ln ( P2 /22) = 540 * 15 / 288 * 303 * 2

@ankit

wat is Clapeyron - Clausius equation actually i mean tell the meaning of all the symbols u used

ankit most of the buks use this relation as Vant Hoff eqn only

@john: i thot of it wen my sir was explaining VP .. he explained it by using equilibrium so i thot and gave a question..

naaaaahhhhhhhiiiiiiiii ise vant hoff equation nahi bolete hai ... this equation was given by Clapeyron - Clausius

and this must be an old sum .. this was there in syllabus 3/4 yrs ago ..now it is not there :)

really a gud ques.........from where(which book/source)..........ashish??????????????????

yes van't hoff equation only :)

Yes ankits solution is correct.
IT is just the equilibrium of H2O(l) -><- H2O(g)
the equilibrium constant Kp = Vapour Pressure
So u can use the eqn given by ankit to find out the vapour pressure

how u got 23.15mm!!!![3]..using the formula

1
ANKIT MAHATO ·

or 23.15 mm..

1
JOHNCENA IS BACK ·

even i m getting 44mm by solving by a very weird method[3]

1
ANKIT MAHATO ·

is it 44 mm

i think .. i got a breakthrough ...

1
ANKIT MAHATO ·

where the temperature Tb is the boiling point temperature in degrees Celsius and the pressure P is in Torr.

got this formula .. but i don't think it is of any use :(
