I'm kind of stupid really!
An ionic compound AB2 has cubic closed pack structures, A occupying lattice positions and B occupies only one kind of void throughout (either tetrahedral or octahedral).
a) what kind of void is occupied by B?
b) what percentage of that kind of void is occupied?
Now, all the ions along a single body diagonal are removed.
The new formula of the crystal is?? (last question-->most important)

B occupies tetrahedral voids. Now, by percentage I hope you mean the space used by B out of total space of tetrahedral voids, then its 100%.
After the operation,
the new formula of the crystal is (it might seem very wierd but nonetheless I'm giving it) --- A15B24! (unsure)
We alwayas reduce the A:B ratio to lowest terms..
yes it is A5B8

I'm worried about these mistakes.. I need to take care of them. It might just hurt! [2]
Yup they do hurt too much..!
