A charge q is placed along the diagonal coloured in red at 1/3rd the distance from the vertex marked (0,0,0)
Find the sum of the electric flux through the bottommost and the topmost surfaces
I came up with this question in a class and was quite satisfied :P .. atleast a different one..

Awesome asish :)
I will not ask the solution bcos i am sure u are right ;)
someone else who wants to explain?
This is the explanation:
The three faces which are nearer to the charge are symmetrical to each other.
Similarly the three faces which are further away from the charge are symmetrical to one another.
So the combination of one near face and the corresponding opposite further face is symmetrical with the other two combinations.
Now flux thru cube = qεo
So flux thru each combination of near face and opposite face = (1/3)qεo
= q3εo

I din see explanation earlier..
good work asish :)
