oh!! iitimcomin also got 1/12.. cheers.. i am also with you... :P
probability of the the first integer being a multiple of 12 is 1/12
so the required probability is greater than 1/12 anyway
but i haven't get the ans yet.....[2]
Hint:
First find the probability that the product is multiple of 4.
Also find the probability that the product is multiple of 3.
THey are independent events!! (Why?)
Thus the probability will be their product
1/12 will not be the answer because that is the probability of only 1 number being a multiple of 12.. here we are choosing 2 numbers.
yeh Sir, did it in the same way!!!
Is my ans close to the rite ans?
Then I'll re-count my cases.... Else my meth mite hav sum flaw [2]
I took any no. of the form 12n + 1/2/3/...../12
then ther is jus one term in their prod. whose divisiblity has 2 b chkd....
so jotted down the cases wer the product was of the form 12p, wer p =Natural no....
sample space = 12*12;
fav cases(dat i got) = 12 + 11 + 17;
wers da mistake???
