A gas consisting of N-atomic molecules has the temperature T at which all degrees of freedom (translational, rotational, and vibrational) are excited. Find the mean energy o f molecules in such a gas. What fraction of this energy corresponds to that of translational motion.

Guys I realise that none of you have given any answer...
And I also know that this was a bit over the top of all of you. (It comes from the soln of Shordinger wave equation (which is far far far from being in the syllabus)
I gave this question because we came across a similar situation where we did not know what to take for the degrees of freedom of CO2
So may be we can restrict it to a situation where N<=2
I want you all to tell me the degrees of freedom(Precise). (I presume that you all know that each degree of freedom stands for a particular energy!)
