Can someone pls tell me why there is this sudden craze for ECE .. its cut-off requirement has drastically increased in almost all colleges. And a lot of students are opting for that. Is there any particular reason as such ?

because this year there was a huge recession... the jobs in comp science dried up (in the 2nd grade college)
so even the better colleges did not see admission in comp science...
6well yeh to saalon ka trend hai..............and when i say TREND i mean it!!!!:P
but actually its not neccess that it is always the best branch to take......
it depends a lot on an individual's personal interest........
and if he or she is not branch specific then surely he goes for the ec or cs...
1but mind u dont take ECE if u dont lik that semi conductor chap of ur class 12th notebook of phy. :P
