That is a nice method.
Thanks
In an arbitrary scale of temperature, water freezes at 40 and boils at 290. What is the boiling point of a liquid in this scale if it boils at 62 degrees celcius.
What formula is used here?

The range of temperature in the arbitrary scale is 40 to 290 i.e. 250 divisions....
In Celsius Scale , no.of divisions = 100.
So,
100 divisions of °C Scale corresponds to 250 divisions of Arbitrary Scale.
1 division of °C Scale → 2510 divisions of Arbitrary Scale.
62 divisions of °C Scale → 62x2510 divisions of Arbitrary Scale = 155 divisions.
As the minimum temperature is 40 in the Arbitrary Scale,
62°C = (155 + 40) = 195... [Ans]
